Frequently asked questions about our products

Can I order mixed grades in a single container?

Yes. Mixed-grade orders are fully supported: you can combine multiple sizes (e.g. T2 + T3 + T4) within a single 20 ft container. The minimum order remains one full container (18–22 tonnes depending on format).

What is the difference between IQF and Block frozen octopus?

IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) octopus is blast-frozen individually at −35°C — ideal for foodservice operators and portion control. Block octopus is plate-frozen in 10–15 kg moulds — preferred by industrial processors and canneries for bulk defrosting. Shelf life is 24 months at −18°C for both formats.

What is the standard carton packaging?

Standard packaging is 10 kg net per carton, labelled with batch number, size grade, production date and plant approval number. Custom packaging (5 kg, 15 kg, bulk bags) can be considered depending on volume and destination.

What is the shelf life of frozen octopus?

The shelf life (best before date) is 24 months from the production date, provided the product is stored continuously at −18°C or below. The cold chain is maintained from plant freezing through to delivery at your warehouse.
